MY TECHNICAL PROFILE
I specialize in C.M.S. or Content Management Systems and web-based applications design and development. CMS is a web-based application. For the 'technically- challenged' or techno-averse Internet surfers or non-geeks, a web-based application, which includes your web sites and blog sites, is an application, a 'program' that runs on web-servers, which is the same server that hosts your personal or company web sites.
If your office suite of applications, like your favorite word processor or spreadsheet program, runs on your desktop, a web application needs to be hosted on a web server and the user-interface (or screens, if you prefer) you see are called html (hypertext markup language) documents or files (or web pages) which maybe static or dynamic (html generated based on some processing using your input, or the input of another system).
CMS has a lot of applications. To name a few, like what I already stated, blogging is one of them. Other CMS applications could be a company portal site for employees and management, or business partners, suppliers, etc. A portal, on the other hand, may have different categories based on target audience or purpose.
The main technologies that I'm exposed to are J2EE (Java 2 for Enterprise Edition), PHP, MySQL and Oracle, XML, and other web-based tools (Perl, cgi, javascript, dhtml). I have used and worked on these technologies for various applications, and industries, most of which are financial and systems integration.
